PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color-fogged image correcting technology which corrects color-fogged portions partly appearing in an input photography image so that the boundary of the corrected color-fogged portion is seen faint. PSOLUTION: A first density conversion curve is set for correcting color-fogged portions from image characteristics of selected color-fogged regions from a taken image, a second density conversion curve is set for other regions outside the selected regions correcting density conversion curves stepwise transiting from the first density conversion curve to the second one are generated: one curve assigned to pixels at the selected regions among the boundary regions for more approximating pixels farther from the boundary line to the first density conversion curve and the other curve assigned to pixels at the not selected regions among the boundary regions for more approximating pixels farther from the boundary line to the second density conversion curve.
