PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for rectification, which has the simplicity of a self-drive rectifier as well as prevents overlapped intervals of continuity of two rectifiers, being caused by parasitic impedance within the rectification system.;SOLUTION: With this rectification system and method, changes in the polarity of input voltage are detected and switch elements Q₁ and Q₂ of rectifying circuits 111 and 112 are turned off, using the detected changes in polarity. When the switch elements are turned off, current flowing in at least one of the rectifying circuits is measured. Using the measured current, turning on of the switch element of the other rectifying circuit is delayed, to prevent overlapped intervals of continuity of the two switching elements, thereby ac input voltage is rectified and the rectified output voltage is generated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
