(57) Abstract The set top receiver and method of the cable television, the operating system of the above-mentioned set top receiver/deciding the function of the control supervisor, the above-mentioned set top receiver include the software component and the frequency acquisition method of operating. The above-mentioned software component is called as the boot loader, executes on the processor which is included on the above-mentioned set top reception inside of a plane and the operating system of the above-mentioned set top receiver/decides the function and version of the control supervisor. The above-mentioned operating system/the control supervisor should be updated, when, when the above-mentioned boot loader decides, as for the above-mentioned boot loader, starting the download sequence, the above-mentioned appropriate operating system/it becomes possible depending upon the execution of the above-mentioned download sequence, for the control supervisor to be downloaded in the above-mentioned set top receiver.
