PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for accurately isolating from a sample a target living cell or an intracellular structure (target site) distributed in low density in a sample containing a large amount of moisture and accurately collecting only the isolated target site. PSOLUTION: The method for isolating a target living cell or an intracellular structure comprises: a step of producing a sample containing a target living cell or an intracellular structure; a step of imparting liquid permeability to the sample to control the moisture content of the sample; and a step of applying a laser beam onto the sample to separate the target living cell or the intracellular structure from the sample.
