PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for preventing a user from leaving without settling charges when the user is charged in a charge settling apparatus for settling charges by using a non-contact type storage medium for storing electronic money information.;SOLUTION: The charge settling apparatus is provided with an information read part. Specified money is charged and a non-contact type storage medium for storing electronic money information and user specification information for specifying a user is held over the information read part. Thus, the apparatus settles the charges according to the charged money by subtracting the electronic money shown by the electronic money information. When the non-contact type storage medium is held by a user over the information read part, the user is specified from the held non-contact type storage medium and, when the charged money with the specified user is detected, a charge settlement request for requesting the information read part to hold the non-contact type storage medium over and the user specifying information are notified until the user holds the non-contact type storage medium over the information read part.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
