PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a spout to be fitted into a bag during its manufacturing, when the bag with the spout is manufactured. PSOLUTION: In this crosswise bag manufacturing method, film strips 11 and 12 are folded back or a plurality of the film strip pieces are lapped over each other, then the inner surfaces of the film strips 11 and 12 are mutually sealed together, while the film strip pieces are conveyed in their longitudinal direction, and a bag body 10 with the spout 16 inserted into a peripheral edge sealing part at the film edge, is continuously manufactured in a crosswise direction. That is, the method comprises the processes: l. A region 19, where the spout 16 is fitted, of the film strip 11 is preheated (preheating process), 2. The spout 16 is inserted into between the film strips 11 having the preheated region 19 before a side sealing part 14 is formed (spout insertion process), 3. At least a part of the preheated region 19 of the film strips 11 is stretched along the peripheral surface of the inserted spout 16 (stretching process), 4. The spout 16 is temporarily held up on the film strips 11 (temporary spout holding process), and 5. The film strips 11 and the spout 16 are sealed not less than once after the temporary holding process (spout sealing process). Also, the bag manufacturing machine is provided.
