PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throw-away tip for high-speed cutting.;SOLUTION: The throw-away tip is formed of TiCN-base cermet having a mixing composition: 20 to 30% WC, 5 to 10% TaC/NbC, 5 to 10% Ni, and the rest being (Ti, Nb)CN (contained by 50 to 60%) satisfying a composition formula: (Ti1-XNbX)C1-YNY, (by atomic ratio, X:0.05 to 0.15 and Y:0.4 to 0.6). The TiCN-base cermet is composed of a hard phase: 75 to 95 area% and a binding phase: the rest wherein the hard phase is composed of a specified first hard phase and a second hard phase, and the binding phase has a composition: 18 to 33% Co, 20 to 35% Ni, 5% or less in total Ti, Nb, Ti, Nb and Ta, and the rest being W (W is contained by 40 to 60%).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
