PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To emphasize the high band components of input video signals without emphasizing ringing and mosquito noise. PSOLUTION: A video signal processor is provided with a high band emphasis means 20 for emphasizing the high band components of the input video signals and a non-emphasis area / non-emphasis amount detection means 30 for obtaining detection output α corresponding to non-emphasis areas before and after the edge part of the input video signals and a non-emphasis amount from the input video signals.
