PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform appropriate teaching, corresponding to player's characteristics in a teaching method for playing a musical instrument.;SOLUTION: When an etude is selected by a player, the etude is adjusted to a musical composition according to a player's technical level, based on profile information which indicates previously stored player's performance characteristics (step Sa3 and the like). When the performance is presented, performance contents are recorded (step Sa6), and the performance is evaluated after performance termination (step Sa8). The profile information is updated to reflect the evaluation contents, teaching contents or the like about the performance with which the player can give correct performance according to the profile information after updating are decided (step Sa11), and teaching information based on the decided contents is displayed (step Sa12).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
