PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coagulant aid capable of using pipes stably over a long period of time. PSOLUTION: A filter aid is obtained by rapidly heating and expanding natural volcanic glass having silicon dioxide as a main component in a sintering furnace, then crushing. The filter aid has irregular form, fine, hard and sharp end part shape, and small water floating property. In the subject pipe sticking suppression method of coagulant aid slurry, the filter aid is mixed with the coagulant aid at a given weight ratio and is made to flow to polish and remove attached substances in the inner wall of the pipe where the slurry flows.
