PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for obtaining a red or magenta aqueous pigment dispersion which is excellent in initial dispersibility of a coloring material (pigment) and in long-term preservation stability enough to retain its dispersion state for a long term and for obtaining an ink composition.;SOLUTION: By employing a colored kneadate for inkjet comprising at least a quinacridone pigment, a quinacridone compound bearing a substituent group having a phthalimide skeleton, a specific styrene-acrylic resin, an alkali metal oxide and a wetting agent, the pigment can be dispersed as fine particles and the red or magenta pigment dispersion for the inkjet ink exhibiting high-level dispersion stability and the inkjet ink composition can be obtained. The pigment dispersion gives a markedly reliable ink composition compared with one manufactured by conventional methods particularly when it is applied for ink for thermal inkjet recording.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
