PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drop testing machine reduced in the error caused by a change in a drop posture, reduced in the irregularity of a drop impact speed and having high reliability, and a drop testing method.;SOLUTION: A housing holder 3 for supporting a drop housing 2 for grasping a test substrate 1 is installed on a direct-acting guide 4 in a freely sliding state so as to be capable of being dropped in an approximation to free dropping. The housing holder 3 is constituted by fixing a support arm 3b, a sensor plate 3c, a slider 3d and a brake plate 3e to a support plate 3a. The slider 3d linearly moves on the direct-acting guide 4 by a circulating type cross roller guide system. The guide roller 10 coming into contact with the side surface of the drop housing 2 and a leaf spring 11 for pressing the guide roller to the inside are installed on the side surface of the support arm 3b. The housing holder 3 drops in a state supporting the drop housing 2 and, when the drop housing 2 collides with a collision receiver, the guide roller 10 is tumbled and the housing holder 3 is separated from the drop housing 2 to be continuously dropped.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
