PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide measurement control system and method during earth retaining excavation capable of forecasting the behavior of earth retaining construction with a high accuracy in excavation work even in the case where the characteristics of earth retaining wall cannot be accurately obtained in advance. ;SOLUTION: Behavior values A of (displacement, stress and moment) of the earth retaining construction are measured (S10) and are indicated by colors (S12 to S20) corresponding to the size relation with the control values (S12 to S20). By the reverse analytic calculations from the measured behavior values A, unknown parameters such as an earth pressure P, reaction coefficient ke of the ground, cohesion C of the ground, angle of friction of the ground, volumetric weight of the ground, cross section rigidity Kw of an earth retaining wall 10 and spring constant ks of a strut 16 are estimated (S22). By using these estimated values, the behavior values of the timbering construction in the subsequent process are estimated (S26).
