PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a micro substance-pickup device which can pick up a micro substance, such as a microbial cell in a cultured culture medium or colony, a lysed DNA or RNA, a tissue or cell operated with a micro manipulation, without contaminating the micro substance, and is further not contaminated, even when the pickup operation is repeated.;SOLUTION: This pickup device for picking up the micro substance placed at a specified place is characterized by comprising a non-contaminated micro carrier piece, and a carrier-holding nozzle means for holding the micro carrier piece at the tip, and disposing a holding control means in the carrier-holding nozzle means. The holding control means brings the micro carrier piece into contact with the micro substance, holds a holding state during the transfer of the micro substance to the micro carrier piece, and releases the micro carrier piece-holding state, before another micro substance is picked up.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
