The composition for measuring the concentration or presence of glycols in the sample that might β- diketones including α- or hydroxy acid and a method. The method uses a compound having a recognition element on glucose of at least two, or presence α- hydroxy acid β- diketone to not substantially interfere with the measurements, the compounds of glucose present compound interactions and is arranged to be more stable than the interaction with the compound or α- hydroxy acid and β- diketone.
