PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for estimating acoustic coupling amount with small amount of operation. PSOLUTION: The device for estimating acoustic coupling amount comprises a reception signal level operating section, a reception detecting section for comparing the reception signal level with a fixed threshold and judging reception if the reception signal level is higher than the fixed threshold, a section for operating the level of a transmission signal, a section for storing an acoustic coupling amount updated sequentially from an initial value, and an acoustic coupling amount updating section for multiplying an acoustic coupling amount stored when reception is judged by the reception signal level to produce an estimation echo level which is compared with the transmission signal level, multiplying the stored acoustic coupling amount by a constant larger than 1 if the transmission signal level is larger thus updating the acoustic coupling amount, and multiplying the stored acoustic coupling amount by a constant smaller than 1 if the estimation echo level is larger thus updating the acoustic coupling amount and then outputting a new acoustic coupling amount.
