PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient method excellent in process stability and for producing a soft stretch yarn settled on the problems of conventional side-by-side conjugate fibers, of fastening feeling and roughening and hardening of fabrics, and of yarn evenness, so as to provide a fabric superior to the conventionals in soft stretch property and uniform dyeability.;SOLUTION: The method for producing soft stretch yarn of a side-by-side conjugate yarn or an eccentric sheath-core conjugate yarn each comprising two kinds of polyesters (except a case of two polypropylene terephthalates) comprises using polypropylene terephthalate having higher melt viscosity than one of the polyesters, spinning at 250-280°C spinning temperature and ≥1,200 m/min spinning rate, winding up the resultant once, drawing with a drawing machine at 50-80°C drawing temperature and in a draw ratio giving 20-45% elongation of the drawn yarn and heat-setting the obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
