A method for obtaining a pharmaceutical composition from Roystonea regia whole fruit including drying, grinding, and sieving the Roystonea regia whole fruit, and separating an extract through a solid/liquid extraction in organic solvents with the organic solvents are selected from hydrocarbons of 5 to 8 carbon atoms, alcohols of 1 to 3 carbon atoms, and mixture thereof, with or without a previous basic hydrolysis using hydroxides or alkalis.
