The method involves staple-converting a digital picture (1) with variable color intensity in a line pattern (2). Smooth contours (3) of lines are determined from the line pattern, where thickness of the lines is proportional to intensity of the picture with variable color intensity. Milling of zones (4) within the contours is performed by a milling machine, where colors of engraving are depend on materials selected for the zones.
