MULTIPLE FUNCTION NUTTER POLYMER, PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING, LUBRICANT OIL AND SOFT TREATMENT PROCESSING, VISCOSITY CONTROL, MUD CONTROL AND LUBRIC OIL CONTROL. The present invention relates to a grafted polymer, both polyolefin and polyester, containing monomers associated with sludge and varnish control as well as monomers associated with soot handling to provide a graft polymer exhibiting multiple performance attributes. It also relates to processes for manufacturing these new multi-function graft polymers via solution and fusion processes. Lubricating oil compositions containing these new multipurpose polymers as an additive showing performance characteristics directed at good soot handling and mud and varnish control as well as viscosity increase control are described.
