The production process of mono ethers of glycerol and its application as an additive for biodiesel. The present invention relates to the preparation of ethers of glycerol from the condensation reaction of glycerine under heterogeneous catalysis, in order to obtain, with high selectivity, mono ether of glycerol.In a second aspect of the invention relates to the application of mono ether of glycerol resulting from the condensation reaction of glycerol as an additive for biodiesel, adding to its value and improving its quality as a fuel. The glycerol employee in the process of the invention is a by-product in the biodiesel production process.
