Applicant"s Name: International Centre For Cardio Thoracic And Vascular Diseases ABSTRACT: The invention relates to a multiplex PCR kit and a method for detecting human Mesenchymal stem cells (hMSC) using multiplex Reverse Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR). The kit comprising (a) a combination of primers to amplify a six different nucleic acid fragments representing a plurality of loci in Human MSC and (b) reagents to perform a multiplex polymerase chain reaction, and the method detect human Mesenchymal stem cells in a single tube using specific set of primers.
