The present invention deals with a novel process for preparation of fixed dose combination of two actives in a stable tablet - in - tablet pharmaceutical composition, prepared with dual release drug absorption system technology, comprising angiotensin II receptor antagonist such as losartan potassium and a beta-selective adrenoreceptor blocking agent, such as Metoprolol, wherein losartan is incorporated as an immediate release component and Metoprolol is incorporated as an extended release component comprising monolithic matrix technology.
