The present invention related to a process for the preparation of atosiban acetate using a novel non-linear liquid phase peptide synthesis scheme. This invention makes use of combing precursor peptides synthesised separately in high purity and yield over presently known processes. The disclosed process has several advances over known process like ease of scale-up and work-up as the process utilises liquid phase peptide preparation chemistry.
