The disclosure relates to the use of cyanopyrimidinones for producing medicaments used for the treatment of impairment of perception, concentration, learning and/or memory where the impairment is a consequence of Alzheimer's disease. These medicaments are also suitable for improving perception, power of concentration, learning efficiency, and/or memory capacity. Also described are methods for the production of certain cyanopyrimidinones that are suitable for producing these medicaments.
