According to the invention, the process consists of the impregnation of the textile fibre in a bath containing 20...60% tetraethyl-orthosilicate, 1...15% sizing agent, 1...30% modifying agent, 0.1...5% non-ionic chromogen, 0.05...0.5% acid catalyst, 10...40% solvent, 0.5...5% cross-linking agent and complexing agent, respectively, 5...20% additional solvent and 10...40% water, followed by drying at a temperature of 20...25°C for 2 hours, heat setting at 100...140°C for 10...60 min and rinsing in running water.
