The use of a metabolic derivative of loratadine (DCL) or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt and a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent or a non-narcotic analgesic or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt for the manufacture of a medicament for treatment of cough, cold, cold-like or flu symptoms and the discomfort, headache, pain, fever and general malaise associated therewith in a human while avoiding the concomitant liability of adverse side-effects associated with the administration of non-sedating antihistamines as are cardiac arrhythmias or tumor promotion.
