Friction device for investigation of thickness of lubrication layers at testing includes sample arranged as roller with outer basic surface with radius that changes with respect to axis of rotation, it is separated into sections with slots, and counter-sample with cylindrical working surface. On the sample cylindrical ledge is additionally provided, with radius not smaller than the largest radius of basic surface and counter-sample is arranged as two electrically insulated one from another discs.
