A process for the preparation of water insoluble or partially soluble polyhexamethylene guanidine salts consists in interaction of soluble polyhexamethylene guanidine salt with water soluble sulphanilic acid salt or with mono- or disulphonic acid or salt thereof, thereafter the prepared polyhexamethylene guanidine salt is separated from the reaction mass by filtration.
