A method for large-flap craniotomy in mammals with intracorporal conservation of the bone flap in contralateral (in relation to operation place) subgaleal pocket m.occipitofrontalis after removal of the large fragment of the skull arch is a method for bone plastic craniotomy. After removal of the large fragment of the skull arch in mammals in the form of one or several bone flaps and at the most effective for decompression sections of solid brain tunic in the projection of bone defect,prepared bone flap is placed in contralateral subgaleal space in artificially formed subgaleal pocket m.occipitofrontalis prior to carrying out of craniopastic operation. During operation the given bone flap is removed from the subgaleal pocket, returned to its former place and fixed during craniopastic operation.
