METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING BRAIN PATHOLOGY IN PATIENTS WITH DIABETES MELLITUS

A method for diagnosing the brain pathology in the patients with diabetes mellitus comprises presenting the visual stimuli in the display screen and recording the bioelectric activity of the brain followed by the analysis of the principal N 75, P 100 and N 145 components of the visual evoked potentials. The amplitudes and the latent periods of the above components are compared with those of the age-adjusted healthy persons. The decrease in amplitude of N 75, P 100 and N 145 components by at least 18 % and the increase in the latent periods of N 75, P 100 and N 145 components by at least 20 % are indicative of the brain pathology.
