METHOD FOR BIOLOGICAL PROTECTION OF PERENNIAL ARBOREOUS PLANTATIONS FROM FALL WEBWORM MOTH (HYPHANTRIA CUNEA DRURU.)

A method for biological protection of perennial arborous plantations from the fall webworm moth (Hyphantria cunea Druru.) includes using biological preparations for plant protection. In the period of the beginning of egg-laying and with an interval of 8 and 12 days three settlings of the laboratory culture of Trichogramma of the species Trichogramma pintoi Voeg. onto plants are carried out. Local populations of the Trichogramma only are used. In addition, prior to settling thereof into agrocenoses two passages are carried out by means of growing in eggs of the fall webworm moth. In addition, females are settled by 50, 100 and 150 individuals per one tree. Furthermore, single spraying of the trees with an aqueous solution of the preparation Viryn FWW is carried out in an equivalent of 0.3 l of the preparation per 1 ha. The spraying of the plants is carried out in the period of the beginning of mass rebirth of caterpillars of the moth from eggs.
