The device has a stationary part (4) enclosing a safety-critical region of an injection molding machine, and a safety switch (2) arranged at the stationary part. The switch allows operation of the safety-critical region during activation, and is actuatable in a contact-free manner by an actuator (3) i.e. transponder, up to a preset opening condition of a movable part (5) e.g. sliding door. The actuator is arranged at the movable part, and a cover (1) covers the switch during opening of the movable part so that actuation of the switch is prevented.
