An antihistamine of biphasic composition in single dose oral or dose divided doses which comprises: a) a quantity of therapeutic effect of sedative antihistamine inhibits the release of histamine for a period of 4 to 12 hours, and b) a quantity of therapeutic effect of non-sedating antihistamine inhibits the release of histamine for a period of 10 to 20 hours, with a delay in release, non-sedating antihistamine being released 4 to 10 hours after ingestion.
