The subject of the present invention is thus anucleotide sequence which hybridizes specifically with aCampylobacter jejuni genomic nucleic acid sequence chosenfrom the nucleotide sequence SEQ ID No. 1, the nucleotidesequence SEQ ID No. 2 the sequences complementary to thelatter, as well as the sequences differing therefrom bynutation, insertion, deletion or substitution of one ormore bases, and which does not or virtually does nothybridize with nucleic acids from other Campylobacterspecies.Fragments of this sequence can be used asspecific primers for the amplification of sequences specificfor Campylobacter jejuni and as nucleic probes specificfor Campylobacter jejuni nucleic sequences.The subject of the invention is also a method ofdetecting the presence of Campylobacter jejuni stains ina biological sample, as well a kit for carrying out themethod.
