The invention relates to a mixture of two particulate phases which is used inthe production of a green compact thatcan be sintered at higher temperatures. According to the invention, A) thefirst phase contains particles that consist of a metal and/ora metal alloy and/or a metal compound, and B) the second phase containsparticles from the group of the inorganic compounds whichdo not release any decomposition products at temperatures of more than 400°C that are interstitially soluble in the sintering metalphase and/or that react with said phase to stable compounds. The inventivemixture, by providing the second phase, is effective insupporting the fine structure of the first phase against the forces of surfacetension during the sintering process. During sintering, thesecond phase remains thermally stable and substantially chemically inert withrespect to the first phase.
