Blood processing systems and methods (10) convey blood cells from a blood cellsource into a blood component collection flow channel that includes a bloodcell storage container and an in-line filter to remove leukocytes from bloodcells before entering the blood cell storage container. The systems andmethods also convey additive solution from an additive solution source intothe blood component collection flow channel. The systems and methods alternatethe conveyance of blood cells through the filter with the conveyance ofadditive solution through the filter.
