CLUSTER AND DISCRIMINANT ANALYSIS FOR VEHICLES DETECTION

摘要

A method is provided herein for determining and recognizing types of vehiclespassing a cheek point.The method takes advantage of an EM algorithm which is up-loaded into a CPUand which processesdata of the vehicles which drive past a checkpoint, the data beingrepresentative of essentialcharacteristics of vehicles to produce an output model of the traffic volumesof the various types ofvehicles. This model enables the forecasting of future road maintenance costsand the, planning anddesigning of future road networks.
