METHOD FOR EXTRACTING BITUMEN AND/OR EXTRA-HEAVY OIL FROM AN UNDERGROUND DEPOSIT, ASSOCIATED INSTALLATION AND OPERATING METHOD FOR SAID INSTALLATION

In order to enhance the known SAGD method it has already beenproposed that the deposit additionally be heated electrically,in particular inductively. For this purpose anelectrotechnical infrastructure is necessary. According to theinvention the energy for producing the steam and for theelectric heating is generated in situ, for which purpose partof the extracted bitumen and/or extra-heavy oil is burned inan industrial turbine (1, 11) with a downstream generator (2)coupled to the turbine (1, 11). The industrial turbine can bea gas turbine (1) or a steam turbine (11). In particular theindustrial turbine (1, 11) with downstream generator (2) isassigned a waste heat recovery steam generator (16) whichserves for generating the steam and accordingly takes the formof a boiler. Through intermediate storage of the bitumenand/or ultra-heavy oil produced it is possible to implement aself-contained closed circuit which operates autonomously,independently of any external energy supply, using approx.20 % of the extracted bitumen and/or extra-heavy oil for thepurposes of extraction.
