A distributed data storage system capable of properly performing multicast data access is established. When the multicast data access is performed in the distributed data storage system, the arbitration of storage nodes for performing the processing to input/output the applicable data is performed therebetween and the arbitration between the storage nodes is realized with no meta data such as the arrangement information of a file. A response arbitration system provided with a plurality of the storage nodes and an arbiter is configured. The plurality of the storage nodes distribute and store the data. When there is multicast or broadcast data access, the arbiter performs the response arbitration of storage nodes for processing/executing the data access.
