摘要

Provided is a novel organic catalyst for an aldol reaction which achieves a higher stereoselectivity of a reaction product than the existing catalysts. Also provided is a method of producing a β-hydroxycarbonyl compound using this novel organic catalyst. A β-hydroxycarbonyl compound is produced by an aldol reaction with the use of a prolineamide derivative having a structure represented by formula (I) or an enantiomer of the structure represented by formula (I) or a salt thereof together with an acid as a catalyst in the aldol reaction: (I) (in the formula, R represents a heteroaryl group optionally having a substituent).
