The present invention relates to N-protected guanidine-substituted furans, thiophenes, and pyrrols, to the use thereof as cysteine protease inhibitors, to pharmaceutical compositions containing said compounds, and to the use thereof for the treatment of autoimmune diseases, parasitic diseases, and cancer.
