The present invention relates to a method for characterizing the effect of a treatment with a given molecule on the skin of an individual, which comprises evaluating the variation, induced by said treatment, on the expression of at least one gene selected from the NOL3, SERPINB3, ERBP, JAG1, CLDN8, LEP7, MT1X, GBA/GBAP, EFNA1, PLLP, KRT1 B, SPRR2G and SPARC genes, at the level of the skin of said individual. It also relates to various methods for evaluating the repairing effect of a molecule on the skin and to processes for screening for molecules which have a repairing effect on the skin in order to identify molecules which are DHEA mimetics. The invention also relates to chips that can be used in these various processes and methods.
