A method for constructing space-time/space-frequency code, a method and an apparatus for transmitting the space-time/space frequency code, relate to the technical field of wireless communication. The method for constructing space-time/space-frequency code includes: at least two transmission antennas divided into K groups, information symbols divided into K’ groups, according to the number of the transmission antennas in the transmission antenna groups, constructing a Toeplitz matrix for the information symbols in each group; replacing each non-zero element in the orthogonal space-time block code matrix based on K and K’ by the Toeplitz matrix; and replacing the zero elements by a zero matrix with the corresponding dimension, when the orthogonal space-time block code matrix comprises zero elements. The space-time code constructed by using the method described above has orthogonality.
