The present invention provides a polypeptide in which the amino acid at position 45 of an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1 is substituted with a hydrophilic amino acid; or a polypeptide having deletion, insertion, substitution, or addition of one or several amino acids other than the amino acid at position 45 in the above amino acid sequence. This makes it possible to realize the production and selection of a cleistogamous plant which has a normal fertility and is suitable for practical use.
