METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR IMPROVED POLICY CONTROL AND CHARGING ARCHITECTURE BASED ON USE OF POLICY TEMPLATES

There is provided an improved policy control (and charging) architecture, which is based on the use of policy templates. At one policy control entity, a service access request may be received, an appropriate policy template for the requested service may be determined, and a proper policy for the requested service may be set up based on the determined appropriate policy template, user profile information and service description information. At another policy control entity, a request for an appropriate policy template for a requested service may be received, an appropriate policy template for the requested service may be generated based on user profile information and service description information, and the generated policy template may be deployed together with the user profile information and the service description information to a requesting policy control entity.
