A ring tone service processing method, application server, processing apparatus and network system are provided. The ring tone service processing method includes: the application server receives a register request message of user terminal, and the register request message carries the information of ring tone service which needs to be started; the application server returns a register response message to the sending side which sends the register request message. The application server includes: a first receiving unit for receiving the register request message of user terminal, and the register request message carries the information of ring tone service which needs to be started; a first sending unit for returning the register response message to the sending side which sends the register request message according to the register request message which is received by the receiving unit. Accordingly, a processing apparatus and network system are also provided in the embodiments of the present invention. The technical solutions of the embodiments in the present invention are capable of controlling the ring tone service through the register process.
