The dummy bar head-sealing system in a mould (3) of a bar casting plant, comprises a flat gasket (6) sealing a column between the dummy bar head (1) and the mould, and/or a packaging plate (7, 8) holding the flat gasket at the dummy bar head. The packaging plate has a cross-sectional form of the mould profile and covers the flat gasket. The packaging plate comprises two symmetrical disk halves lying to each other in a plain. The disk halves are relocatable to mould middle and are separated from one another in an interval, whose width is dependent of the conicity of the mould. The packaging plate is mounted against the dummy bar head with tie rods. The plate halves of the packaging plates are equipped with through-bores formed as apart slots for the tie rods. The packaging plate is equipped with a strengthening rib (23) passing in longitudinal direction.
