Provided are an aluminum alloy for pressure casting, which has excellent yield strength and elongation, is not likely to burn, and can be used to replace ADC 10 or ADC 12, and a highly tough aluminum casting that is pressure cast using said alloy. The aluminum alloy contains Si: 4.0‑9.0 wt%, Mg: 0.5‑1.0 wt%, Fe: 0.55 wt% or less, Mn: 0.30‑0.6 wt%, and Cr: 0.10‑0.25 wt%, and the remainder comprises Al and inevitable impurities. With such a composition, it is possible to provide an aluminum alloy for pressure casting which exhibits superior yield strength and elongation and is less likely to burn than existing ADC 12, and castings made of said aluminum alloy.
