A naturally occurring component which can remove a nitrogen oxide and a sulfur oxide readily and efficiently is discovered. Disclosed is a toxic oxide-removing agent comprising the component. Specifically disclosed is a toxic oxide-removing agent comprising, as an active ingredient, at least one compound selected from a group consisting of terpine-4-ol, citronellal, bornyl acetate, cadinene, sabinene, γ-terpineol, δ-3-carene, terpinolene, γ-terpinene, 1,4-cineol and 1,8-cineol. Also specifically disclosed is a method for removing a toxic oxide from air, which is characterized by bringing air containing the toxic oxide into contact with the toxic oxide-removing agent.
